7.4 What is the best 2d card to use with a Monster?

DO YOU NEED ONE OF THE EXPENSIVE VIDEO CARDS, IE. RIVA 128, VIPER
330, ATI PRO PRIMARY CARDS? MAYBE I MEANT "WANT" INSTEAD OF "NEED".I
GUESS WHAT I'M ASKING IS, WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST HANGING THE MONSTER
ON.

Joe...I haven't seen anything the Monster won't work with so far. The
Viper 330 is about the same price ($199) and performance, albeit the
Viper has some very significant advantages over the Monster - like
blazing 2d speed!!! So if you have an "old" 2d card, I'd go Viper (or
ATI either one). If you wait about a month, the Monster II will be
out and prices on Monsters will fall some. If you want the absolute
best available right now, buy a Viper (ATI) AND a Monster. That
little combo will handle anything!
