    Default Braathens SAFE progress

    Hey Guys,
Doing a special request for Braathens...here's what I have so far...

If someone can tell me what the actual white text says on the red cheat line for this aircraft (N981FS), I'll put it in. Right now it reads text I got of a pic from a 737-300/400 on airliners.net. I still have alot of work to do before she's painted to my satisfaction.

I'll let ya guys know when I'm done...but I have to warn you that I do have some real world commitments due to the world situation that may influence my upload schedule...but I'll try my best to get her to you guys ASAP.

    Steve Dra

Thats just a brilliant piece of work!
    I will definately get it!

Thanks for the fantastic work Steve!
And for the name of the airraft I couldnt find it, but I found a few Braathens 737-200 names: LN-SUK - Magnus Erlingsson.
N197JQ - Olav den Hellige. LN-SUD Olav Trygvason.

The white text is names of norwegian Viking kings and the text in your plane is Inge Krokrygg. Inge is the name and Krokrygg is a nick that means hunchback. Very nice work!

    Hey Thorsten,
As long as anyone can provide adult, constructive input of what needs to be done on my paints, I have no problem with people pointing out things that need to be fixed, esp. since I've never seen a real Braathens before. :)

I usually point out the things I see in my pics to let everyone know that I'm aware of the glitches and are addressing them. But I was too tired last night to do that, and I wanted to get the update screens to you guys quickly.

Here are some of the things in the pic I plan to fix:
    1. The reg number is too far back.
    2. The reg number doesn’t match the name of the plane.
    3. I’m using the LH engines and wing and front gear doors
    4. The red around the exits needs tweaking
Other than those things, I’m all ears. :)

Here is how I make sure I’ve got things pretty much the way they are supposed to look:
1st I get a good side view of the plane (provided to me from a very good resource! ;-))and paste it as a new layer onto my master.

Then I resize and shape it to match the master’s textures using the very versatile deformation tool and changing the opacity just enough so I can see the master textures in the background.

Then I start painting on it. As you can see here, I’ve simply turned off the pic overlay layer to see how I’m coming along. :)

Hehe, I should be charging for paint lessons :)

Thanks for the feedback and the interest in my work....its nice to have people who appreciate what you do.

    Thanks Øystein!

Hehe, I have to make her LN-SUK...because one: I really like the name Magnus (from watching too many "World's strongest man" competitions) and two: I definitely suc at this! :-lol

Thanks for the information...It is great to learn so much about other countries via your favorite hobby. :)

    Thanks Henry.

I figured the names had something to do with Norse history somehow. :)
