Default =(*)= Dangerous - Strange - Weird - Airports Around The World -=(*)=-

It's been a while since this was done.
For sake of the new guys and gals who think there is nothing except nice smooth concrete runways.
I'll start a thread of Odd Runways of the World.

To make it simple for all and not fill it with screenshots, the rules are simple too.
    (1) One or two photos.
    (2) Runway\airport name
    (3) Airport ID
    (4) Any special information\interesting items.

Here is my entry.... Lets make it interesting for all...

    Airport Name: Banff Alberta
    Airport ID: CYBA
Information: High mountainous area, long narrow runway surrounded by deep canyon on all sides.

    Heres my entry.
    Airport: West Papoose Lake Airpark
ID: 44AK RWY 11-29 Alt 249"ASL Surface 1600X50 oil treated
Location: 38nm on hdg 160 from PANC, Anchorage Alaska

Not too bad to get into with a small A/C and default scenery as pictured in first photo, but if you have Eddie Denny's Alaska Mesh installed then it gets a bit more difficult,as seen in 2nd photo. Choppers only please.:-eek My guess is its only about 240" wide at rwy surface with mesh turned on.

Little Tidbit: I'm not sure if you have noticed this at Banff CYBA, but I hopped in a chopper there once and went down along the cliffs there surrounding the rwy. Found myself LMAO when I noticed a wind sock about 1/8 of the way down, sticking out of the side of the cliff. :-lol

    Cheers C-GEHF

My turn. You all know Lukla. But with a scenery from Christophe Schmitt you can get an upgraded Lukla and Syangboche.

    Take Off from Syangboche

    Syangboche "runway"

Lukla, you all know this one

There you can see the distance between Lukla and Syangboche

Here's a couple of good ones for ya.

    1) West Caicos Emergency strip, which is MB01. (Zero not o)
There is no runway, just a field with trees, it may be a glitch but it IS a default airport. The "runway" is located where my plane is, down on the ground.

    2) Milford Sound, New Zealand. NZMF.
Very challenging, especially with this terrain mesh. Also in NZ is Mount Cook, (NZMC) also VERY challenging. This shot is of Milford Sound.
