CH PRODUCTS ARE JERKS... I NEED TO VENT

I've been building my own custom joysticks & wheels for like 7 years now, and decided I want to build a heli setup. I'd buy the Flight-Link one but it's like $1500. I want to use 5 axes on one joystick so that it'll work fine with everything- The only joystick that has that is the CH USB Flight Sim Yoke. Now, I own a Flight Sim Yoke USB (3 lever), F.S.Y. PC, Pro Pedals PC, Pro Pedals USB, Virtual Pilot Pro, and a CH Gamecard. So I figured rather than destroy my $130 dollar USB yoke (which I'm quite fond of) I would just call CH tech support and see if I can get the USB host controller which are usually $30 or so. Well the guy told me that they could send me pots, or buttons, but for something like that, I'd have to send in the whole yoke. I told him that it wasn't broken, I just wanted to buy and extra host controller, and he said no. He told me "then you could just buy a $30 host controller and have a $120 yoke". I was flabbergasted. First, he's accusing me of lying- Second, um if you don't buy the "yoke", you don't have a "yoke"!!!!! What, will it magically appear when the host controller shows up? I don't get it- I was pissed. I said "but I already have a flight sim yoke USB", and he said "then take that one apart". WTF? They would rather sell nothing, than something for less? I didn't realize they were so lucrative they could just turn people away like that- must be nice. Am I the only one who would be interested in buying ready-to-go design you own joystick/controller kits? I doubt it. Oh wait, they DO offer one- The guy then told me "Well, if you don't want to spend $120 on the USB yoke, you won't want to spend a few hundred on this" (again, as if I didn't own the yoke already, and was just "duping him"). I looked up the kit anyway- 3 axis, 5 button. What is this, a joke? They really irked me today. I hope they read this. Well scr*w them and the horse they rode in on. I'm not buying their cr*p anymore. I've talked to people at thrustmaster like 20 times and they've always been really great. This guy had a bad attitude. Nice representation. It's not like I was asking for anything for FREE- I asked him if I could BUY the stuff- and he just gave the "too bad- $120 will get what you want" attitude. I hope that guy gets fired for sexual harrasment.

I am amazed by what you think someone should provide YOU with..

sheeeeeeeeesh... they are not a spare parts company they sell controllers - complete.. not kits..

if you want a controller for usb go and buy a cypress development kit or PIC / usb kit..

You could always build your own yoke then have the satifaction of not giving CH any more money. If you do a search for "how to make your own flight yoke" in the all files section of this here depository of FS related material you will find a file on how to do it. If you are of a nervous disposition or a puritan perfectionist then dont look it not pretty.
