Newbie Question

I just started at Christmas time, so I don't have the basics down yet.

I've seen screenshots in this forum before with colored smoke systems (ex. red and white) whenever I turn on the smoke system I get white... why?

Those are addons, available with specific aircraft in the file list. With some knowledge of how to edit the aircraft.cfg you can add them to most any aircraft, once the effects are installed to the effects folder. tbird_sm[1].zip is one file, designed for F-16s. There are instructions included in the package.
