Obviously for the looks of it MSFS is the best till now, but what about realism. I'm a PPL and I want to have the most realistic flightsim possible for PC, eventhough it has its downs on graphics. Which sim you think that would be and why?

Excuse my lame but the only sims I know on PC's are MSFS, A340, ProPilot, Fly, i.e. the most commercial ones.

I actually like carrying 98% of the flight out with my eyes locked on the instruments only(in the end that is what IFR is about) but I would like to have some mountains to run into so I know when I bust the minimums, real fuel calculations, real weather effects, runway conditions, CG, realistic failures, no 747s capable of loops, gears bursting on hard landings but not necessarily exploding the plane, flaps flying off if you don't watch out for the speeds, realistic cockpit workload, etc.,etc. Graphichs really are secondary.

So which PC sim you think would get the closest to satisfying my desire.

    Thanks

There is also Elite. If you think the Pro version of MSFS is expensive, Elite will take your breath away.

Yes, I know. It might be worth it though. But I think it runs on flatland as A340 did and the specifications I have read about it don't give me the guarantee that it is what I am looking for (eventhough the consoles are very appetitive). Trust me if I was sure that Elite was "the sim" for the PC I would dineout less and save for it.
