    Default Cruising Over Texico

Here's a couple of random pics I took over Farwell, Texas...on the Texas/New Mexico border in my Piper Tomahawk. I took off from my real-life home airport in Clovis, New Mexico (KCVN).

On VOR Navigation the whole time, decided to use my radio and hunt down the Texico VORTAC (TCC) that I had been listening to on 112.2.

Okay, so the shots are boring. I still would like some feedback :)

Nice pictures, looks like Farwell has grown a little since I was stationed there 1981-1988. I use to have a C-150 that I flew out of CVN.

Never been to Clovis but I am well familiar with that whole area. I went to college at Texas Tech in Lubbock off and on from '89 to '94. Took a few flight lessons at KLBB but kept getting airsick because the air is so choppy. Those screenshots make the landscape look almost tropical...in reality there is not one shade of green anywhere to be seen. Well, that's taking it a bit far. But still, most of what you see from the air is brown. The area is so flat and colorless that the residents of the area have borrowed geographical references and named cities after them. Look on a map of the Lubbock area and you will find towns named Brownfield, Shallowater, and Levelland. Brown field, Shallow water, Level land. Hmmmm.

Always nice to see shots of Texas and that other state to the west of us. Forget the name. :-)

    hahaha!!

You are very correct. The true ground is very very BROWN. To me, every town looks the same from the sky as well. Aside from Clovis and Lubbock, which are a little bit larger than the other farm towns.
