    Default Pacific Circuit Three...

Well, a long day's flying with adverse winds but quite pleasant until the last bit :-roll

    Out of Kodiak.

    http://www.flightsim.com/dcforum/Use...c3733f9bbd.jpg
A rugged sort of place :-roll

Here is the destination weather...The landing will be a nightmare :-eek I intend to do an ILS approach onto runway 23 and then break off to the right onto the left downwind for a visual onto R/W 05 :-roll

The lady steering the boat is my dear wife, Nica :-)

    These look like old volcanos.

Approaching ELFEE, those volcanos are on my left, marked ^3000.

Now we have a long leg, as you can see on the GPS...527nms and 4H:05M. I can bring up a temporary GPS panel at the top left with more details...you can see those figures there.

I'm using the ADF needle (at the bottom, to the right of the OBS), to show passing abeam of Dutch Harbour.

This is how that looks on the chart.

The Last Quarter Moon is about to set. This is correct for today 29th September 2002.

On finals now for runway 23...so much drift that I'm looking at the runway through the Co-Pilot's windscreen :-eek There is NO WAY I'm going to attempt a visual onto 05 in this. I have a 70 degree crosswind component and a downwind 20 degree. No one else is in the sky and there is no ATC here...I'm landing on THIS runway :-roll

Well, I'm down safely, but could not stop it drifting off onto the grass :-(

Well nobody seems to fly here at all! I have not heard a single aircraft all day...just the various controllers. I bet they are glad I'm around. At least it gives them someone to talk to.

I had a lot of difficulty taxying to the fuelling point...but it is all done. If it is blowing like this tomorrow, I may consider taking-off straight into wind on the grass :-eek.

    Peter,
Wow! For one, that is a beautiful aircraft. B) Incredible realism with your nav tools. C) I wish I was 'driving' that boat too! :)

    Peter,
The ole bird is doing well!
Great shot from behind of the crab angle just before touchdown.

I can barely land in fair weather...how you landed in that crosswind is beyond me....;-)

Makes me want to get that DC-3 package again...been awhile.

    FLIGHTFX POLICY
1.) We design for reality, not for idealism.
Thus, you will not see virtual cabins on our aircraft. You can not see inside the real thing anyway, unless you are looking into the sun. You will find virtual cockpits but they will not be visible from outside for the same reason.
2.) We design for people with real computers. Thusly, we will not waste polygons on superfluous parts. We will use a texture when there is no noticeable difference between it and a group of performance wasting parts. We will model our aircraft efficiently. If you do not like it, too bad.
3.) We will give you the latest features, but we WILL NOT sacrifice visual accuracy to implement them. Accuracy comes before eye candy.[/font size]
