LAST EDITED ON Sep-18-02 AT 09:38PM (EDT)[p]Okay,
Thought I would get these photos of some of my real life flying. I'll cut right to the chase...pardon the pun...Our Helicopters names are 'Chase'. Mainly, because that's what we do, I'm sure you've seen all the shows. :)
First off, Here I am fresh at work. An approaching storm prevents any response to calls at the moment, so I'll give you the tour.
This is Chase 3. We purchased these from Government surplus for about 400 bucks. Repainted, refitted, reworked nose to tail. (58's).

This is a shot of Chase 3 and 4. Tonight we have the "FLIR" and night sun installed on Chase 4, (underneath), so that's who we will be flying. (By the way, helicopter pilots fly RIGHT seat.)

This is our baby, it's a Bell 407. Twin engine and four blades, (hauls butt), full leather and all the bells and whistles, moving map, Air conditioning etc. She's being serviced right now which is fine with me because I like to fly with the doors OFF!

Thought I would sport our new night vision for you...this is the-up and off, postion. Sorry, I look a little weary at this point...hey I've been riding a horse all day in 98 degree heat with 100% humitity, and now I have to fly until 2300 hours!

Yes, they ARE heavy, but the battery pack on the back of the helmet help balance it out a little. You will know you've had them on after a few hours of flying.
They are incredible. It's like flying around in a green daytime, very sharp, very clear. Good wide field of view, believe it or not. 4 AA batteries good for 50 hours!..oh yes!

After the storm, we flew for about 2 and a half hours, it got pretty busy, espesially with one pursuit.
I took in flight pictures, but it was night time and they came out as a bunch of bright, squiggly lines of light. I'll get some day time shots to you soon!
Hope you liked!
Best,
