Sorry, couldn't resist. I should grow up.
I would be happy to try the repaint for you, but won't be able to work on it until tomorrow afternoon. The only 172 I have to repaint is the default one, and it will have the texture mirrored on the other side, which isn't a problem except for the tail - the Cirrus logo would be backwards on one side. If that is OK, then let me ask if you have any better pictures of the tail logo, that shows a little more detail, or from more of a side angle. If you do, email me and I will try to recreate the logo more accurately than I could using this oblong shot. Also, the 172 default doesn't have wheel pants on the mains. Problem?
Here is my repaint of the plane I soloed in, as an example. Its pretty simple, and I haven't really dirtied it up yet, but you get the idea.

Well, I took the colors from the second picture you posted, although I can change it to the darker blue (don't know which is correct, if either) And it looks something like this:

However, using the 172 default model (which I did), the other side is mirrored. Therefore, it looks like this:

Yuck. But it is all I can do with the FS2K2 model.
Also, your first picture has N734WL on a solid white panel, while the second picture (of the other plane) has the N-number outlined in white, but not on a white rectangle. I used the white rectangle, although it looks like it may have been fixed and they just didn't want to complete the paint job. Is the other side like the second picture (with an outline), or is it on a white panel, too? I guess what I mean is: should it be teal letters with a white outline, or teal letters on a white panel?
I may see if I can find the FSD 172 freeware one, although I am not sure of the policy on repainting that one - I will check it out when I find it on my HD. I don't know if it has non-mirrored textures, although I will check on that too.
I'll get back to you when I find that plane. Let me know if you want this one, or if the color should change, and I will fix that.
Brian
Well, I found the FSD/Dreamfleet Cessna, and it does have two sided textures. However, there is also a note is the readme file that states explicitly "No modification of the enclosed files is permitted without the written permission of the authors. "
I may modify the files and submit it to them to see it it meets with their approval, but will not release it unless they have given permission. I don't know how they would feel about giving permission after all the headaches they have had with the FDE files for this particular aircraft. (Carenado's payware 172 has an FDE more than passing similarities to the .air file of this plane, and I don't want to get into copyright infringement issues.) Not that I couldn't get into copyright issues with this repaint of the MS 172 also.

Sorry for not reponding lately.
Yes send me the Texture files for the 172 u painted. The colors are perfect it looks like the real thing. Thank you very much.
