    Default My Logbook by request...

I know that some of you enjoy my Logbook series and someone asked recently for some more. Here are a couple of shots taken at Nairobi in about 1960. I am flying in the Number Four (Box) position :-)

What aircrafts did you get to fly for the RAF?
And why do a invertloop with flaps down? (Sorry for my ignoranse)

    F16-Driver,

That is not an inverted loop...it is the top of a normal formation loop, performed over Nairobi Airport (in those days it was called Embakazi Airport..now it is Jomo Kenyatta Airport). The airport is 5500 feet or so above sea level and we needed a bit more bite in the thinner air, so we used 10 degrees of flap for all formation aerobatics at that altitude.

I flew mostly jet fighters...Meteors, Vampires, Venoms, Hunters and a little bit on Lightnings :-)

I certainly enjoy your logbook entries. In fact, one of them some time ago inspired me to make that sig of yours. :-)

Keep them coming any time you feel like it. :-)

Glad you enjoy them Jeff :-)...Yes indeed! I'm very pleased with my signature and thank you again for the work you put into it :-)

I just put out a Logbook shot occasionally...I may well be grouping them all together eventually on their own website :-)

Africa must have been a heck of a place back in the late 50s, early 60s. Great shots Peter.

    Cheers,
    Rolf :)
