Thread: My trip to Chicago (Real pics!) Part 1

  1. Default My trip to Chicago (Real pics!) Part 1

Well....as promissed a month ago...here are pictures of my flights to and from Chicago. Thanks goes to United for screwing up our reservations and bumping us to the next morning to a 757 from an A319!!! Anyway. Here's the pictures.

Here's our plane getting some fuel. EARLY morning hours of August 7th.

Cruising at FL 410. Very over cast on our way to ORD

Looking forward from my exit row seat in Economy Plus. They owed us..and since a bunch of people bumped up to first class...this is the best they could do for us...not bad still..LOTS of leg room:)

Left engine looking down. About an hour out of ORD.

There's dad trying to sleep on the isle seat. Neither of us much cared for the movie..."Changing Lanes." Let's face it...Ben Aflack is in it...*gag*

Well, here we are. Just turned a LONG final. The Captain just extended the flaps...and we started to feel a cross wind... :-eek
Look hard...you can see an American 767 turning final...he followed us all the way in. We were following an Air Canada 737-200
    http://www.flightsim.com/dcforum/Use...f7521c45b9.jpg
Full Flaps...about 5 miles out now. This cross wind is getting NASTY.

    Departing UA 777...at least that's what Ashley says.:) I still think it's a 767.
    http://www.flightsim.com/dcforum/Use...6a52585ebf.jpg
Seconds from touchdown...this crosswind is making this landing near impossible! The plane was rocking over the threshold! I count 3 747-400's, and other various planes.
    http://www.flightsim.com/dcforum/Use...a052758edd.jpg
    I count 5 MD80 tails, and a 737...there were 6 MD80's...but I couldn't fit them all in!

Well..that's my pictures of the flight to O'Hare...there were more...but not worth putting up here. Let me know what you all think! The Captain did an OUTSTANDING job with the landing. I havn't seen that much airleron movement on a jet that big in years. He had to set down on the right main gear because of the wind. GREAT job Captain. I gave him major kudos as I got off the plane:)

Pretty cool! I'm leaving on a trip next week...haven't flown since June, I can't wait.

    That last shot is 4 MD-80's, 1 737, and 1 Fokker 100!

    Cheers, Chuck :)

Well, I'm gonna go with Morvious here. I'm sick personally of doing hard work to arrange a post...spending 20 minutes or so on a good one, and NOT getting any reply's to it. It is frusterating.

    You're right...that is an F-100!

    FLIGHTFX POLICY
1.) We design for reality, not for idealism.
Thus, you will not see virtual cabins on our aircraft. You can not see inside the real thing anyway, unless you are looking into the sun. You will find virtual cockpits but they will not be visible from outside for the same reason.
2.) We design for people with real computers. Thusly, we will not waste polygons on superfluous parts. We will use a texture when there is no noticeable difference between it and a group of performance wasting parts. We will model our aircraft efficiently. If you do not like it, too bad.
3.) We will give you the latest features, but we WILL NOT sacrifice visual accuracy to implement them. Accuracy comes before eye candy.[/font size]

I don't know what you guys are so upset about, that's the way it is here sometimes...hey, maybe they're all busy flying!
If something interests someone, they usually say something. If it doesn't they don't. Or maybe you have to give it some more time.
"20 minutes...for a good post," I usually spend at LEAST two hours for a "real" post. Mine often get bumped to the bottom in a matter of hours never to be seen again...now you guys want to talk frustration?? It used to upset me, but not anymore. I've seen it said this is a "tough crowd," but the simple fact is the sheer number of posts makes it impossible to reply to each and every one each and every time. So don't get too worked up about it...some of us would rather be flying.

    Regards, Chuck

    Hi Guys,

It's been bugging me...maybe I came off a bit harsh. I didn't really mean to, I was at work and kept getting interrupted (imagine that!)

What I was trying to get accross, was that you shouldn't give up just because no one says anything! That doesn't mean they weren't looked at and enjoyed by someone.

I lied (a little,) when I said it doesn't bug me when no one replies after I worked so hard on something. But you know what? Maybe they weren't as good as I thought they were...or maybe it's a tired subject...or maybe everyone is just BUSY!

Just don't get too worked up about it! It's not worth worrying over...just do what you do and enjoy it. You'll never please everyone, just do the best you can...and KEEP ON POSTING!

    No hard feelings?

    Regards, Chuck :)
