    Default Getting closer to darkness......

Another real life shot I took tonite while out at the airport with my son. Once again, he was more interested in blowing the "fuzz" off the dandelions then the great looking aircraft sitting around. But when the occaisional plane taxied by, or took off, he stopped, watched, and had the same look in his eye as me. I did manage to get this shot before I was overcome with the urge to grab some dandelions for myself.

This is just another step in my learning curve in photography. I am working my way into trying to get some good shots in total darknes. Looks much better without the compression.

Also, I must admit it was great fun sitting and blowing the fuzz off those dandelions, I have not done that in years.... It kinda brings back the kid in you. I highly recommend giving it a try!

    Jeff,

*mouth hanging open – trying to think of something to say*

    Geeez!
    Oh my, that is precious!
    What an Amazingly Gorgeous photo!

And thanks for the great idea, too!
Think I’ll take my little one out Dandelion hunting tomorrow… He’ll love it! ..If he can stop thinking about race cars and tractors long enough to see them… :-)

This picture is sure worth more than the proverbial “1,000 words…”
    It’s a keeper in the full-sense!

    All the best, as ever,

    - Tia

When you told us about the new camera you got, from there I knew I'd be seeing awesome aircraft photos by you, Jeff. :D

Very nice!!! I wish I was that good with my camera - my pictures are all - as Richard Dawson would say - "El Crappo"...;-)

I got some decent pictures at LAX with me mum's 35mm camera, but I can do much better with my Canon (early '80's vintage, f/stop stuck all the way open...d'oh!)...it has a telefoto lens...:-)

Oh, and my scanner's screwed up too - everything looks muted when scanned. I've noticed the white light in it seems to have burned out, my guess is that {that } lights purpose wasto provide illumination, thus, with low light, the pictures come out blecch...:-)

    FLIGHTFX POLICY
1.) We design for reality, not for idealism.
Thus, you will not see virtual cabins on our aircraft. You can not see inside the real thing anyway, unless you are looking into the sun. You will find virtual cockpits but they will not be visible from outside for the same reason.
2.) We design for people with real computers. Thusly, we will not waste polygons on superfluous parts. We will use a texture when there is no noticeable difference between it and a group of performance wasting parts. We will model our aircraft efficiently. If you do not like it, too bad.
3.) We will give you the latest features, but we WILL NOT sacrifice visual accuracy to implement them. Accuracy comes before eye candy.[/font size]

    Jeff,

This is an amazing, afwull, spectacular, ready-to-be-published photo!!

I can keep on watching it... it's really marvelous!

If you want to add extra effect on your (future)photos, this tip :
-Lower the number of the diafragma (5.6 / 4.5) & increase the speed (don't know the word in english) to 1/1500 or 1/2000 sec. (depending on what the lightintensity is) and you will get a clear sharp main object but the background will become more blurry... This attracts the attention even more to the main object!

Have fun with it... Photography is next to flying also a passion of mine ;-)

    Best, :-wave
