Thread: HELP!!! CH Pro Yoke USB & Rudder Pedals USB

  1. Default HELP!!! CH Pro Yoke USB & Rudder Pedals USB

I need some help with this one... I decided to treat myself to a fun Christmas present and buy the CH Products Flight Sim Yoke USB and Pro Pedals USB. I am running WinXP on a PIII 600 with 512MB Ram and a TNT 2 32MB. I know this system isn't the most powerful, but FS2k2 runs pretty well even with most sliders maxed. (Impressive in my book) I installed the CH Products New Controller software and also went into FS2k2 and calibrate the controlers assigning the correct actions etc. So on to the problems:

    1. The Mixture control does not work. I set it up and it seemed to work correctly in the calibration menu, but in FS nothing happened.

    2. The Prop control has limited range. i.e. Min on controller = 30% in FS and Max = 75%

    3. The sensitivity of the yoke motions are crazy! Landing the C182 in calm conditions felt like landing in a full Gale! The plane was jumping all around with a minute movement of the yoke. (I did notice that the forward yoke motion when calibrating was way off)

    4. The brakes won't hold me when I am doing a runup...I just start rolling towards the runway.

One thing...I have not installed FSUIPC yet... would this matter?
    Are there any other suggestions?
Has anyone else had these issues?

    Thanks,
    Winston

I have both the yoke and rudder pedals and just installed WinXP and both work great on mine. However, I didn't install the control panel, just used the default XP driver that installed when it found the controllers. Perhaps that is the problem. Try removing the control panel and just use the default drivers.

    Just a thought.

Same setup here with no problems... I would remove the Control Panel stuff... You can also set sensitivities w/in the game. Try messing with that also.

I did the same thing - I have the Flight Sim Yoke USB and the Pro Pedals USB. I never installed the CH software, and they work great with FS 2002. I've always wondered whether I "should" install the software, but since it works without it I didn't want to screw it up!

This is just to confirm the above posts: I have a CH USB Yoke, never touched the control software, works like a charm.

    Thankyou thankyou for the answers!

You were all correct. If you have XP and you are installing the CH Pro USB Rudders and Yoke, DO NOT download or install the CH Products Controller software. It does screw everything up.

I uninstalled the software, and let XP identify the Yoke and Pedals on its own. Almost everything was correctly identified and all sensitivity/inoperative problems were solved.

    Impressive win for XP.

    Thank you for the input.
