    Default F-16 Brakes power

    Is it possible to increase the wheel braking power of the F-16 created by G. Chiacchietta?
    This aircraft is great, and worked fine in FS2000. In FS2002, it still works fine, but it is very difficult to stop the aircraft when landed on the runway. I adjusted the parameters in the aircraft.cfg:
    AXIS_EVENT_06=AXIS_THROTTLE_SET
    AXIS_SCALE_06=130
    to reduce the throttle sensitivity, especially at idle. But still, the plane goes too fast on the runway, almost unstopable...

    I guess it is possible to do that by editing the air file, but how?

    Thanks for any help !!

    bump...not to mention, I can't get mine to hold at engine startup without full brake applied.

    Anyone?

    YES! You can...use abacus FDE Editor...i think that is what it is called...yes it's free...anyways look for a value that has something to do w/ braking...or wheels...i can't remember...i tweaked a bunch of aircrafts using this...just look and experiment. Yes, it works if you were wondering...

    Voyager,
    Thanks for the tip. I had not used Abacus' FDE before...didn't realize I needed it, but on first glance after downloading, it looks like a must have.

    However, I've pulled up the F-16 airfile in question here and can't seem to figure out what to change to reduce thrust % at low idle. Or...did you simply increase braking?

    I'd really appreciate it if you could shed some light when you get a chance.

    Thanks,
    Hugh

    I downloaded AbacusFDE, but I think AirEd is better (provides more explanations), and it is downloadable for free on flightsim.com (aired.zip).
    So I tried to edit the F16 with AirEd, and I found an entry called "Brakes effectiveness". It was set to 24000, and I changed it to 32767, which is the maximum. It didn't change anything in FS2002, the aircraft was still hard to stop. Looking for more info, AirEd indicated that a value of -32768 corresponds to the maximum. I set this value for brakes effectiveness, and still no change in FS2002.

    Now I'm hopeless... Any info that could help ??
    Thanks !!
