Default Wrong Altitude

Can someone please help me with a problem in the adventures for FS2002. During the flight I get a call from ATC telling me to move to the correct altitude. ATC tells me several times to expedite to my correct altitude. But guess what everyone. I am at the correct altitude. Why does it do this? It can happend well pass half-way through an adventure. Then I get so mad cos the IFR adventure is automatically cancelled because even though I was at the correct altitude ATC told me to move to the correct altitude.

Anyone help please

Thanks

Dave Thompson(A real twin turbo engine pilot) I'm just glad this does not happen in real life. I'd loose my license at not fault of my own..

LAST EDITED ON Jan-02-02 AT 00:40AM (EDT)[p]You may just need to set your altimeter to the same setting as the ATC. If they say "current altimeter two niner niner two" and your altimeter is set to 30, then you will be a couple hundred feet off at most. Just use the knob to set it. Hope this helps.

Check what your altimeter is reading. Above FL 18,000 feet it should be set to 29.92. When you start your descent below that altitude, you should set to whatever ATC directs you to set it to. Example: Altimeter 3012...set your altimeter to 30.12 so your alitmeter reads back the correct alititude.
The reason you do this is because the whole world is not experiencing the same pressure situation. And you have to accomodate for that when flying around the world.

Hope that helps.

FS2002 attempts to simulate flight levels, this means that if you fly over FL180 then you must set the altimeter to 29.91 otherwise you will always be out, below this when contacting a new centre they will always give the altimeter setting and this can be adjusted by pressing the 'b' button on the key board. If you do not do these things then ATC gets really huffy and cancels the IFR.

If you have not already got it then do a search for FSUIPC this is a great little addon for the modules folder and will allow you to set a key press to set standard barometric pressure, most people use 'shift-b'.

Hope this helps, and Happy New Year.
