The IPRA (International Plane Racers Association) was started by me, LVBer123 on June 26, 1952. We took old abandoned WWII aircraft from Japan and the USA and restored them. We then modified them to racing requirements, beefed up their engines, and raced them to victory. Our first race on May 23, 1955 gave us second place. Then on another race on December 1, 1956, we won first. We got awards and money that helped us build up to today. Our portrait before that amazing flight is still hanging on our walls. Here, take a look:

Now we have lived up to our expectations, and decided to take a flight just for fun in Chicago. Here it is.
