On final for 24L.

However, this was the real view. Note: left flight display IAS & wind direction on the situational display. On the dash, IAS/Mach was at 234 when I disengaged VNAV; however, I still had manual control over the throttles and maintained 170. :) All I had to do was engage that again and the plane would auto throttle back to 234. :(

Nice shots :-cool

One little thing: why are u landing with 144tonnes fuel?? it's way above mormal landing weight!! Ur speed is very close to max gear extended speed 180 kts! Why haven't u captured the LOC doing approach? U haven't set autobraks to desired braking!

That was my few coins

LAST EDITED ON Jun-22-02 AT 01:28AM (EDT)[p]Ahh, just flying a little too casual, Coldbear. :-cool Thanks. I keep saying "practice makes perfect" myself.

APP (approach) takes care of Loc & GS all in one click. Loc will automatically turn off since the auto approach does both. I had this funtion on.

You're right, I didn't even set the autobraking, it was completely disengaged. And the fuel, landing weight.. No comment.
I promise to read back up on all that stuff for the next trip. This was the first flight I've made with this plane in months.

BoeingBoy, the panel is payware. It comes along with the plane.
You can get it at the Phoenix site here:

Anyone else? :)

Oh, and a little side note: The Pad's beat the Yankees tonight 9:1. With Perez (20) pitching to boot. :P

"practice makes perfect" - Thats trully right :-cool The [App] is armed and should intercept the LOC and the G/S, but the LOC isn't armed, look on the FMA!! Ohh, I have the worlds best 744 Sim ever made for PC! So I know about all the stuff ;-)

I wouldn't doubt it, Cold. :) For me, I don't have that sort of thing. I can't even find the manual I wasted a whole ink cartridge for this plane.. This flight went well, there were no stalls or engine trouble. LNAV lined me up just perfect to actually take the approach by hand if I wanted. It was a nice soft and slow landing and that was all I cared about atm.

We'll see how well it's done in Singapore! :-cool.

Stunning photo's. I really like the tail pattern on that BA 747.

Keep up the goodwork!
