    Default Delfault Dash 8 Problem

    Is there anyone flying the default Dash 8. I've been attempting it several times however on approach I keep getting an error message when I go to put the gear down that I'm exceeding the speed for putting the gear down. I've even been coming in as slow as about 100 - 110 kts. How much slower must I go or is there a fix for this?

    Look in your aircraft.cfg file under contact points. Usually the first three entries are the gear. Check to see what the last set of numbers (all the way to the right) are set at. See example below:

    [contact_points]
    point.0=1, -5.0, 0.00, -7.45, 1500, 0, 1.617, 25.0, 0.500, 2.5, 0.9, 5.0, 6.0, 0, 100, 250
    point.1=1, -29.0, -12.99, -7.55, 3000, 1, 0.633, 0.0, 0.675, 2.5, 0.8, 6.0, 7.0, 2, 100, 250
    point.2=1, -29.0, 12.99, -7.55, 3000, 2, 0.633, 0.0, 0.675, 2.5, 0.8, 6.0, 7.0, 3, 100, 250
    point.3=2, -31.6, -42.50, 5.39, 1200, 0, 0.000, 0.0, 0.000, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 5
    point.4=2, -31.6, 42.50, 5.39, 1200, 0, 0.000, 0.0, 0.000, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 6
    point.5=2, -68.6, 0.00, 1.22, 1200, 0, 0.000, 0.0, 0.000, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 9
    point.6=2, 0.0, 0.00, -3.92, 1200, 0, 0.000, 0.0, 0.000, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 4

    My settings are the same for the first three lines that you showed. Now what?

    Raise the last two numbers for the first three contact points.
    Just use these numbers:

    [contact_points]
    point.0=1, -5.0, 0.00, -7.45, 1500, 0, 1.617, 25.0, 0.500, 2.5, 0.9, 5.0, 6.0, 0, 160, 250
    point.1=1, -29.0, -12.99, -7.55, 3000, 1, 0.633, 0.0, 0.675, 2.5, 0.8, 6.0, 7.0, 2, 160, 250
    point.2=1, -29.0, 12.99, -7.55, 3000, 2, 0.633, 0.0, 0.675, 2.5, 0.8, 6.0, 7.0, 3, 160, 250

    I'll give it a try and let you know how it worked. Thanks

    Bilbo;
    I changed the three numbers and works great. Now I can approach at around 120 kts and be able to put the gear down. Now I just have to have someone upload a livery for US Airways Express for the thing and I've got it made. (you wouldn't know where there are any would you) Thanks again.
