    Women and flightsimming?

So here I was spending Chrimbo on my flightsim thinking, I wonder how many simmers have got wives/ girlfriends that actually like to get involved?

The big question, do they hate it, or do they love it?

Mine wants to get involved with it. I just need to get her a flightstick. She has a powerful enough computer.

Heh..easy question...my wife HATES it!!! Takes all my time away from her "quality time".

For example, (this actually happened the other night)

(names are not mentioned due to as it might incriminate parties involved)

Wife: "son" is finally asleep, "husband". I slipped into something you might like. :sticks chest in front of my face:

Me: Hey, hon!! Check out the scenery of Las Vegas!! ::pointing to monitor screen:: That's what Las Vegas looks like! You said you always wanted to go there. There's a glimpse!! :getting more involved: Oooohhh...check that out! Even the signs have famous people's names on it.

Wife: Dammit, I don't care about that !@%!*&% crap! You're more interested in that s@!# than me! Between that and the internet, you never have time for me! I bet you have a *friend* on there as well...why don't you just go entertain *her*!?

Me: :annoyed that wife is now cutting into my playing time by trying to drown out the engine and ATC sounds coming from my speakers: Well...maybe I will then!! :shuts down Fs2k2 and logs on to the internet.. goes to a more mature website: Hey hon!! Look here!! :points to the monitor screen: Check out those hooters!!! You always said you wanted to have that size!!!

Suffice it to say, I ended up on the couch for the next couple nights. Which was good for me!!! I got more playing time in without the old ummm..I mean, the wife nagging me and harrassing me.

    LoL

My wife does not get involved, though she often decides to have a conversation with me whilst I'm being vectored to final after a 2 hour flight.( very annoying )
If I was a real pilot I think the CAA would be very worried about my hearing, given the amount of " say again " commands I issue.

Yes, my wife loves to come in and talk to me just as I'm trying
to pay attention to vectors from approach.."hang on honey, I
need to hear this" "Oh, that's more important than what I
    have to say"..etc, etc.

The reason for asking, is that I have the choice as to whether to get myself another pair of monitors to extend my "cockpit" or spend the money going out tonight to celebrate New Year where I might pull some totty.

One way I get all the usual enjoyment, and the other I get two large eyefuls ;-)

Difficult choice, but I know that my friends here can help me make this important decision.

    Tornado,
Well - if you are single - go for the women! Flight simming will always be here! ;-)

Myself, I'm happily married (at least today) and my wife does occasionally actually FLY. She likes the smaller and slower birds. (Baron, Cessna's). We luckily have two machines, so we don't have to fight over flight time. (My machine is better)
