Thread: LOGITECH!?!?

  1. Default LOGITECH!?!?

I have always had trouble with logitech. My mom bought some logitech speakers and they worked for a will and they just stoped working. Then I bought a Logitech Wingman force 3D and it never calibrated. Like the softeware didn't except the calibration. What I had trouble with was that the little light at the bottom wouldn't turn green. At the end it said that the calibration failed. I posted a message here and everone, who replyed, said to return it. After a will of me trying to calibrate it just started to smoke and i returned it. I was just wandering if logitech is cheap and the stuff always breakes.

    Thanks,
    Paul

Funny. I've found exactly the reverse.

I've also found that virtually every Microsoft bit of hardware I have ever paid perfectly good money for has turned out to be crapola from keyboards (now using a Honeywell) to mice (now Logitech Optical after the MS Optical shat itself x 2) to Sidewinders. My first Sidewinder was an FFB which failed, the replacement was a 12 month old SPP which always suffered from the "Controller Not Connected" problem : now it's unsupported by it's own manufacturer (Microsoft) under either Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP.

But I have had no troubles with Logitech stuff. Certainly they are more reliable and feel more durable.

If you want an SPP I can send you one in kit form : after finding the 12 month old SPP to be unsupported by Win2000 (and after a few cleansing ales) I swung it around on it's cord like a mace and smashed it into about 100 bits <g> ... that's Force Feedback, Aussie style ;)

I have a Logitech WingMan Digital Extreme 3D (Gameport)joystick and it is the best. Very accurate and easy to set up. However I also tried the Strike Force (Top of the line model) and it would not calibrate despite trying out 2 different units. Had to return them both. I also have CH Pro USB pedals and FlightSim Yoke USB, but I think that the Logitech is much better.

I agree. I like the Logitech setup or setting of the joystick. The real only problem I had with the joystick was calibrating. everything else, on the joystick worked fine, until it started smoking. The speskers work great until they startet to not work. just like it just stoped working. Thanks for your repleys.

    now it's unsupported by

They are supported unde "Microsoft SideWinder(Auto Detect). So, don't say no shi*t if you don't know.
I have absolute no problem with Microsoft Hardware, but I had trouble with Logitech, and I think they are cheap.

GRRRR! Logitech GRRRR! Three years ago I bought a Logitech Digital Extreme Joystick and it drifted all over the place, I took it back and got another and it did the same thing (I tried it on 2 other PCs and same thing). I trashed it and got an MS Precision Pro and have been happy ever since. I know a lot of other people had the same problem with that joystick.

Last week I got a Logitech web cam, and the Logitech software won't even recognise their own camera and then it crashes the PC, but other products like Microsoft NetMeeting work with the camera no problem.

I have never gotten a Logitech product to work for me and I don't see myself buying any of their products ever again.
