    Default Help - no reverse thrust

    Unable to operate reverse thrust correctly in FS2002 using F2 key. Engines only go to 40/60%, if I'm lucky. Working OK in FS98.
    System: Pentium III 700, 256 RAM, ATI Radeon 7500 card, AETI Control Yoke with throttle and CH rudder pedals (all non USB).
    Have ininstalled and then re-installed FS2002 twice, and also now removed FS2000 from my system.
    Grateful for any ideas.

    Hello,
    I had this problem too and it nearly drove me bonkers!
    The problem is the joystick calibration in FS2002. It doesn`t
    let the throttle on your joystick register exactly zero
    (i.e idle) and therefore won`t let you engage reverse thrust.
    I got round this by re-calibrating my joystick. What I did was,
    when setting the range for the throttle I never let it go to zero and actually left it slightly cranked. This meant you could get a true zero reading when the throttle was pulled back and
    hence engage reverse thrust.
    There are settings you can change in a .cfg file somewhere to
    avoid using this rather crude fix but I can`t remember where
    they are ,I`m actually shopping at the moment and not at my
    own computer. If you are still stuck I can find out for you
    later.
    I hope you get it sorted
    Nicky

    I second this. On top of proper calibration, also set the min- and max-point in FSUIPC for better results. For me, that step was required to eliminate the jittering at idle throttle completely.
    It looks like FS2002 is far more sensitive to control input than FS2000 ever was.

    I have the same prob, so what I do soon as I land, is disable the joystick with Ctrl-k and then press F2. Then stear with F11 (right) F12 (left) its the diffrental braking.

    Can not get reverse thrust properly in FS2002 using F2 key. Only goes to about 30%. Engines idle at about 20% when throttle fully closed. Have tried usual fix of recalibrating joystick and leaving extra space at bottom of range to allow throttle to close fully, but still doesn't work.
    Understand there is a fix within FS2002 involving changing a .cfg file. Anyone able to help please?
    My system is Pentium 700, ATI Radeon 7500, AETI Flight Yoke and throttle running into Sound Blaster Live soundcard.

    Hello Gordon,
    Now what I`m about to explain I haven`t tried but it`s worth
    a go.
    In your FS2002.cfg file (in your FS2002 main folder)
    there is a section titled
    [Joystick_Main {some numbers etc}]
    and there is a setting underneath this
    AXIS_EVENT_02=AXIS_THROTTLE_SET
    AXIS_SCALE_02=127
    AXIS_NULL_02=1
    I suspect (and I stress at this point that I may well be wrong)
    that changing these will help.
    127 and 1 are the settings I have - what are yours?
    If they are different then try changing them but please
    please please backup your FS2002.cfg file first!!!!!
    This means if it goes pear-shaped yu can fix it.

    Change the value "127" to "140"...I have done this and it works.
