Default ~*~*~ United States Navy Grumman BF-1 Avenger ~*~ NAS Key West Flordia ~*~*~

The was Grumman's first torpedo aircraft, and its design had much in common with that of the Company's fighters
as its chunky, robust appearance testifies. The design and engineering team under W.T. Schwendler developed the
aircraft very quickly - the order for two prototypes was placed on 8 April 1940 and the first Avengers went into
service just over two years later.
Origin: Grumman Engineering Corporation - also built by Eastern Aircraft Division (General Motors)

Nice pics...
Microsoft has been darn nice about letting the community use CFS2 aircraft without folks actually owning CFS2. As of late, a few have shown up here as downloads for FS2002.
One other comment about the CFS2 AI aircraft. Adam Warren did not write the airfiles for them (though, he is an enthusiastic CFS2-er...and quite young). That was the hard work of Air Buddah and his buds if I remember correctly. The info that comes with the zip, it should be noted, is a bit off...

I have tried a few cfs2 planes in fs2002 and they usually work fine. Except this one is not a cfs2 plane. It is a fs2002 plane either modeled or redone from the cfs2 version.
There is also a brown army version around.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-17-02 AT 07:46AM (EDT)[p]Nonsense...it is the CFS2 AI TBF Avenger...that it comes with a new paintjob does not a new plane make. Adam Warren didn't do the airfile...Airbuddha (Bruce Thorson) did. Tucker Hatfield and his crew made the model. Again, I'll say nice pics...and how nice it is of Microsoft to allow us to use CFS2 aircraft without us actually having to own the sim. You might own CFS2, Jerry, but many here do not and would not have access to the CFS2 aircraft otherwise.

Hey...no worries...was just reacting to..."Except this one is not a cfs2 plane." Frankly I'm surprized that it is being allowed to occur. Fellows who own the basic non pro version of FS2002 were told where to go (literally) when they requested that Pro version aircraft be uploaded for their use. As far as I know, CFS2 is still a copyright protected product for sale on store shelves...I just find it odd that flightsim.com would even allow these aircraft to be uploaded. But, what do I know?...a lawyer I am NOT...lol. Just from my point of view, it seems as if someone is breaking a few rules...lawsuit type rules. I wouldn't want anyone to catch any unneeded flak...but if I noticed...others might too.

Cheers,
Rolf
