Pan view

I recently had masses of problem with flight sim 2K2 which are now all sorted thank god! But there is still one left to sort out which is the pan mode using the HAT or POV switch on a joystick in virtual cockpit mode.

I was told to enter a line of code which i can't fully remember off the top off my head now, something likw pan_in_cockpit_mode=1, i think. I tried entering this in many different places in the FS2k2.cfg file but with no luck.
Could someone please tell me if this is the right code and where abouts i should stick it(No rude suggestions please) or if there's another way because i've searched through all the in game menu's and can't work out how to get it back.
