Default Planing a flight (Commercial/Airlin) around bad Wx (T-storms, etc.)

Ok, I have been fileing IFR flightplans around bad weather the hard way for a long time, i.e. stareing at and analizing looped Wx forcansts and splaying around websites figuring out "The Best way Around It". The question is whare can I find A website/tool in which I am able to select my departure location then my destination and then be able to safely plot my track "through holes in and around these bad suckers. A website or some type of addon/download maybe?

    Thanks. . .

Good luck with that one :) I don't know of any site that would be able to give you a route thru the "holes" in the weather as those "holes" could very easily close long before you get there.

These days I don't do many (maybe 1 every 2 years) x country flights that are more than 100nm, but then an Extra 300 isn't exactly a X country machine either :)

The only way I can fly around large storms is using the Active Radar (right name?)that came packaged with ASV6. I download real weather, select a flightplan previously created in FSNavigator, and after reviewing the route information via metar info, just watch the radar and make adjustments.
My point I guess is a weather radar addon of some sort may be of some value for you? I do not use FS9 ATC, so I reroute through my LD-767's FMC after looking at the appropriate enroute charts.
Not sure if I even came close to suggesting something you may want to look into, but I hope so? :P

    Hello again qballbandit... :)

You know, you are soo right. RL pilots before their flight are in the offices and breafing rooms craming for the Wx info and conversating with one another about the days Wx (and talking shop-talk of course). But when they get into "their" offices (The Cockpit) Wx Radar, METAR, Text Wx info, Comm radio conversations, and all the many ways "to get info these days" is what the Pilot really gets. Anyway,... yes I really need to get a Wx radar gau. to put in my AAL Fleet AC. So...the sertch continues for yet another gau. Have any good ideas?

By the way, did anyone encounter any trouble with that Tropical anomaly (storm) off the east coast of FL. yesterday? Just cureous...:P

O.K. I had to come back,... um I looked through jere at fs.com and avsim and with no luck I couldent find a simple "Radar gauge" that I am able to put into (any) panel. I havent checked sim-outhouse yet so in the meantime can somone leave some info for me. (tierd..'yawn'...going to bed.

    Thank you.
