Default Anybody out there have this card???

LAST EDITED ON Feb-03-02 AT 01:54PM (EDT)[p]Hi Guys!
Just wanted to know if anyone of you has a nVidia GeForce 2 MX-200 32MB PCI graphics card!
Cause I've got the chance to get one for my old pc (which has no AGP-Slot) for only 75 €!
If you have could you please post screenshots using it with all sliders max (especially in areas with a lot of scenery objects like KaiTak v3.0) and tell me your framerates!
I really think about buying it...
Thank you very much!!! :-)

I'm planning to buy one! It's only $65 here in the USA.

Hi Cyco - I don't think you'll find many people who are stuck with a PCI slot these days (at least in these forums). The only advice I can give is that the GeForce2 is a great chipset and even in the MX200 flavour, is probably going to be the best PCI card you can buy.

What's your PC using now? If it's something like a Matrox or Savage, then it's going to be a big improvement - just bear in mind that you'll never run FS2K2 on maxed sliders using a reletively slow PC - whatever graphics card you've got.

Hope this helps,

Adam

ELSA isn't a Compaq card - it's the name of a company. They make their video cards based on mainstream chipsets such as TNT and GeForce.

In short, is your card good? Maybe. Depends what it is! :)

Well...I have a GeForce 2 MX400 PCI 64MBVRAM. I can tell you that flying in NYC or San Fransisco really kill my computer. (I have a Celeron 533Mhz). Before you view these, please note that having about 256 MBRAM+ will really help the smoothness. Here's some screen shots:

If I remeber correctly, I was getting about 2-3 FPS with all settings maxed out on this shot (above)

http://www.flightsim.com/dcforum/Use...cb17a4c880.jpg

the frames on that shot (Himalayan Range), were about 5-10 FPS (sliders 3/4, no shadows, about 50% ATC).

you can see i had about 2.5 FPS in that shot at San Fransisco. (Not all settings maxed)--one thing you must be aware of. You really have to get used to flying with 2-4 FPS at major airports with only 3/4 sliders (on average).

Here's the grand canyon. (Sorry I'm posting all American shots.) You can see about 4-5 FPS, sliders mostly full. Please notice the texture problems in the distance. They are quite blury because my computer is too slow. (That will happen to you also if you fly over 250 KIAS for a long distance...get used to it).

Finally....here's all settings maxed out, and that means EVERYTHING! Seattle, Washington...where Bill lives..hahaha

As a conclusion...the PCI GeForce helped me a ton! Es ist sehr gut! Ich liebe es. Du brauchst es!
