Default Corsica on a winter afternoon...

    Hello all!

Here are some of my latest pic's during a tourist flight along the isle of Corsica...

Unfortunately my pc crashed (no NOT the plane :-) ) so I'll have to make another tour to get back in Bastia!

    Enjoy these...

    That's it for now.
Also converted one of the previous pic's and modified it with photoshop to have a signature... hope you like

    Cheers!

    Cozzy…

    These shots are fantastic!
Really, very nice! I love ‘em!

I have a few Baron shots coming up too… Probably not as nice as these, but – I’ve still been enjoying having the Baron also… :-)
It’s a lot of fun to fly and sometimes, it really is just so “photogenic.”

I’ve passed Over Corsica at FL300+ a couple of times, never seen it so closely yet…
I love those places where the hills meet the sea…

Wonderful SS’s, please keep ‘em comin’!

    &nd – yes, I like your sig. image too… Very pretty! :-)

    Cheers …

    Tia

    Hi Cozzy,

Gorgeous pics! The first one, with the trees on that mountain ridge in the background, is sooo great... Just like the rest of them... ;-)

Tell me, do you use the default airfile or Steve Small's updated one?

    Best,
    /Björn

    Bongiorno Tia!

    Thanks for the nice comments!
I also like the Baron a lot, it's such an easy-to-fly plane and very forgiving too :-)
I'd like to try out this one in real life... only it would be a bit harder to manage as in Fs...

When you're over Corsica next time... give it a try in a low-and-slow machine and you won't be dissapointed!

    Kindest regards!

Nice of you to drop a line!
I also love each and every moment of such a VFR flight.
About your question : I use the default air-file.
Is there a big difference in handling with the modified one? Sure would like to try it out... If ever you have the link...?

    Cheers mate! :-jumpy

    Bongiorno Cozzy! :-)

    You’re most welcome, indeed…
I’m still marveling at the 3rd shot here especially – wow… You nailed that one. That Baron is looking Good I can say!

“I also like the Baron a lot, it's such an easy-to-fly plane and very forgiving too…”

Goshness, you sure said that right!
Have you ever noticed – if flying the Baron where there’s turbulence, you can hear the plane “groan?”
Need to listen to it in “Spot” view while flying in some turbulence – it’s really neat…
I was listening to it a while yesterday flying in to Riga (Latvia) while in some “occasional” turbulence, and it took me a while to figure out what the heck is causing these sounds?! :-lol
    I figured it out though… &nd it’s really neat.

“I'd like to try out this one in real life... only it would be a bit harder to manage as in Fs...”

Yeah, but it’d be a ton of fun under the sun, wouldn’t it?
Man – I’d love to do that, too! :-)

“When you're over Corsica next time... give it a try in a low-and-slow machine and you won't be dissapointed!”

Count on it… I’ll be there with wings on… ;-)
I think I could fly to Corsica from my home in a Baron in under two hours… I’m really needing to do that. I will do that…

Thanks again for the very enjoyable shots – keep comin’ with ‘em! :-)

    Best regards as always -

    Tia

    Hi Cozzy,

You are right, VFR flight is great! In fs2k I was usually high up in the flight levels, preferably in IMC, never bothering to look around... Now it is a whole different thing! Really nice indeed...

"About your question : I use the default air-file.
Is there a big difference in handling with the modified one? Sure would like to try it out... If ever you have the link...?"

There is quite a difference (not that I spent much time in the default, but anyway...). Some say it is too unstable in roll, but Steve has many hours in the real thing and insists that is the way it is supposed to be. Those heavy engines far out on the wings give quite a roll inertia, apparently... Anyway, I like it a lot, and here is the link:
    http://www.fsd-international.com/fli...s/FSD_BARON_V2

There is a turbocharged 58TC as well:
    http://www.fsd-international.com/fli.../FSD_BARON58TC

These are both found in Steve Small's pages on the main FSD web page:

    Best,
    /Björn

    Guys?

    ..I’m totally confused… :-shy

I had the thought of maybe trying an alternate S. Small *.air file for the Baron, too – but, when I go to the FSD Site, I can’t find anything of the sort…
(Actually, don’t find much of anything – period).

But there’s this word in the news, apparently written by Steve Small, himself.

    “October 1, 2001

    FSD FLIGHT DYNAMICS FILES REMOVED

Due to the lack of community support on taking a solid stand against Piracy and Commercial exploitation of Freeware works, most recently by Carenado Company, a group of thieves operating from Chile, South America, I have decided I have had enough of Freeware, Piracy, and the lack of respect shown to developers like myself
who give their time and expertise for free.

When it becomes perfectly clear that far too many users place no value on the works of Freeware developers, the end of Freeware is in sight. It is especially disappointing
that Flight Simulator reporting agencies have consistently not acted to help stamp out Piracy, Theft, and Copyright abuse.
Maybe one day, when Freeware no longer flourishes, they will likely scratch their heads and say :

    ‘I wonder what happened ?’

Maybe then they will reflect on their inaction and what they failed to do when they could have had an effect, to help stop the problem before it killed this part of the hobby we all share and cherish.

If you want to protest this action, ask the major FS websites why they would not support anti-piracy measures or act on behalf of ALL (not just a selected favored few) developers
when this support was previously sought and denied.”

..So what am I missing here? :-shy

Are those *.air files still available somewhere, Björn?
    ..or Cozzy..?

    Will appreciate any help…

Thanks – and best, as always –

    Tia

You're seconds away of downloading the air-file...
Just keep scrolling in that black window and at the end you will find the links for various planes!

    Or even easier...
