Thread: Setup Problems

  1. Default Setup Problems

I've just gotten CFS3 and I installed it to the default folder on my C: drive. I keep getting an error message when I try to start the game. It says "The D3D8.dll file is linked to missing export DDRAW.DLL:DdEntry14" Anyone out there got any ideas on this one? I looked in the Windows/system folder and both D3D8.dll and ddraw.dll are in the folder.

I'm running Windows ME on a 1.0 gig AMD Athlon.

I'd appreciate any help anyone could come up with.

  4. Default RE: Setup Problems

Well, I don't know what exactly happened during the install of CFS3, but it somehow corrupted my system to the point where I could not properly install DirectX. Consequently, FS2K and a couple of other PC games would no longer run on my system. I ended up having to do a System Restore to before I installed CFS3 the first time. Then, when I finally got that done, there was something wrong with my Norton Antivirus, so I just plain deleted that entirely. I will have to reinstall Norton, but everything else is working well, including CFS3.
