Thread: I have bitten off more than I can chew!

  1. Default I have bitten off more than I can chew!

I am starting out on the rocky road to designing aircraft. I have been doing the tutorials for FSDS2 and have made good progress.

However I have to admit to being a little stupid here. Well a lot stupid! I was on the airfield on Sunday with my cadets flying Grob 109B Vigilant motor gliders. The Squadron Leader was moaning of the fact that there was no FS2004 version of the ac and that it would be a good idea. Now maybe it was the sun on my head but I said I would give it a crack!

Now I really need some help with this. These breakdown into two areas. First I need some help and advice on creating the model. The second is getting the information on the ac. I have contacted Grob to see if they can send me some pictures/plans of the ac. I can get all the pictures on the ac I want. So for painting it won't be an issue. For the flight model I have the instructors willing to test it and give it the correct feel!

So if any of you want to help me even a little it would really be appreciated.

    Hello, Simon,
Read the nearby thread started by Hap. He seems off to a good start. You'll note that there's no silver bullet, just a lot of learning, entertainment and, every now and then, even satisfaction.
Give it a go. Ask specific questions here (or at www.aerodynamika.com's Freeflight Design forum) and you'll find plenty of help.
    Good luck.
