    Default overspeed warning at 5 kts

    Hi there, guys!

    For some reason the aircraft that I am creating suddenly started giving me an overspeed warning anytime the aircraft is going faster than 5kts. I have checked the .air and .cfg files, and can find nothing that should tell it to do this.

    Anybody else seen this before, and if so, do you know a cure? I'd sure appreciate it.

    Check this aircraft.cfg section in FS2004:

    &l;Reference Speeds&r;
    flaps_up_stall_speed = 142.0 //Knots True (KTAS)
    full_flaps_stall_speed = 113.0 //Knots True (KTAS)
    cruise_speed = 477.0 //Knots True (KTAS)
    max_mach = 0.82
    max_indicated_speed = 340 //Red line (KIAS)

    FS2002 doesn't have the max_mach or max_indicted_speed. They only reside in the *.air file. See sections 1101, Vmo and 316, Mmo for the correct values are in FS2002 and FS2004 *.air files.

    Are you sure of the overspeed warning. Check it again to make sure it isn't related to flap/gear extension speeds.

    Thanks for the reply. I tried this out, but all of the portions of the .cfg and .air files show no reason for the overspeed warning.

    Can you tell me where the maximum speeds for the deployment of the
    flaps, landing gear etc. are called out? I wasn't able to find it, but perhaps you are right, maybe the .cfg file indicates the maximum speed for something else is being exceeded.

    I thought about the landing gear, but the 'warning' doesn't quit once the gear is retracted...

    Thanks again,

    Brian

    Thanks for the tips,

    So far, I haven't managed to chase down the problem, I checked all of those items you pointed me at, although your flaps information seems more thourough than that in my file, so maybe I re-write that portion
    of the .cfg file to match the format you have here.

    If nothing else, I'm learning a good deal about the aircraft setup, so I'm making good progress.

    Thanks again for the help,

    Brian

    Is there a way to eliminate the Overspeed warning sign and its corresponding sound alarm?

    Any information will be greatly appreciated.

    Yes. Don't overspeed! ;)
