    Default MakeMDL problems - What am I doing wrong?

    Okay, I'm stumped.

    I'm trying to convert this .x file:

    To .mdl format.

    However, MakeMDL gives me the following error log:

    So what am I doing wrong?

    You have colocated vertices (vertices that belong to the same object and share the same location in space). These need to be welded in your 3d-package (select all vertices of that object, choose a welding threshold and weld). ;)

    I've done that, and it STILL gives me the error messages.

    Okay, welded points, tripled polygons (so there are no polygons with more than 3 points), merged any points less than 2mm apart, converted to .x and turned off all options in MakeMDL.

    And it gives me this:

    Hmm, just to make sure: Have you tried to export a simple box?
    You don't need to have only tris in your model, polygons are accepted without a problem.
    What is the decimal delimiter on your system? It should be "." (point) instead of ",". You can change it in the control panel under sth like "country-regulations" in the "numbers" tab (sorry, I'm not entirely sure about how these fields are called, I do have a different language version).
    If you still can't get it to run, I could give it a try, if you like. ;)

    I'm using US settings, so my decimal is a "."

    Haven't tried exporting a box yet. Let me go try that next.

    Ok, just tested it, same error. And that the box doesn't export indicates to an error in the exporting process from your 3D-package to the x-file.
    What exporter are you using? I am using 3DSMax with the Pandasoft utility, and the settings as explained here: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/tips...oMaxplugin.htm . ;)

    One more thing: How many polys did you use? MakeMdl took a long time to load the model - might be a problem related to polygon-count.

    I'm using Lightwave to create it, and 3D Exploration to convert to .x

    I refuse to use 3D Studio or GMax, because I hate their interface.

    If I am not mistaken, there is a plug-in X file exporter for Lightwave. Seem to remember reading something about it at Microsoft's DirectX download archives.
