    Default Matrox Triple head question

Most would have seen the promo's for this device.
Basically it allows you to run a "super wide screen" window in many games including FS by means of three monitors at once.

However, be warned. While it looks great in straight and level flight, the slightest turn left or right will leave you looking at three discreet horizons. Each of these horizons are disconnected from each other and the look is terrible.

This happens because each monitor pivots the screen thus the horizon on its own centre.

Has anyone here got any suggestions on a fix...if it's at all possible?

I can't see how this could be fixed, however that doesn't mean much !!

I think a single widescreen monitor may be the only way for a realistic wide view experience, not lot's of monitors, worse luck.

I moved on to the digital version for this reason. As far as I know there is no fix in the analog version. Even so that is far better than one screen flying which I could never return to.

    Thanks for that reply.

Tell me, does this digital version pan the horizon over the three monitors smoothly, or is there still a problem with the horizon appearing disjointed and disconnected.

Is it possible for you or someone else to provide a screen shot with the airplane banking at say 20 degrees or whatever.

I'd like to see if the horizon(s) actually line up correctly.

    Many thanks in advance.

I can't explain it better than this:

I am surprised you haven't read Matrox's website.

Bezel management has nothing to do with lessening the effect that I first queried.

I've, of course, read all of Matrox web pages and also note the lack of screenshots other than perfectly level horizons when panning three monitors ! Why is this I wonder?

I still am interested in whether or not the horizon breaks up into three seperate identities when banking the airplane.

Of the many folk I've asked, none have been able to show with a simle screenshot that this does not occur.

So please, a screenshot out the front windscreen showing the tilted horizon nicely going from one monitor to the next smoothly and with no breaks.

I'd really love to buy one of these things but not at the expense of having to compromise the flying experience.

    Thanks for your patience.

Firstly, you ARE trying my patience. I fully understand your question. As I said I went through the analog process myself. A friend has been pleased to take that from me, as a gift, and he is enjoying the immersive experience.

Secondly, I am not versed in the pic process. I'll go read about screenshot submissions and if I can I will show you.

Thirdly, if you do not believe what I am saying you best seek advice elsewhere.

I must just add that one of your comments in the first submission was incorrect. Each screen does NOT pivot on its own centre. Each image is merely seperated by the width of the 2 bezels.

Right. So Far so good. I have taken some photos and reduced them to "forum" size. Screenshots would not tell you what you want to know. TH2G creates one image e.g if you use 800x600 it creates an image 2400 x 600. It then projects that onto your 3 screens.

Your quote above is another incorrect statement you've made. Bezel Management (BM) has EVERYTHING to do with what you see. If you printed a TH2G screenshot and cut it into 3 equal pieces, then placed them 2 bezel thicknesses apart you'd get what you see on the analog version. If you then moved them back together and placed 2 strips of paper the proportionate width of the bezels across the joins you'd get what you see in the digital version after making the BM adjustment.

Now if I can get my photos onto this message you will be able to follow what I am saying.

If you need a categorical answer to you question about the horizon. Yes , it does appear as in the real world , if you use the BM software.

Sorry. Got the first one wrong. It's on twice. This is the intended first pic which shows the GXM window, where you select the BM window

Thanks for your effort and the pictures - I was curious about this too.

But if you had said "Yes, it does appear as in the real world, if you use the BM software" the first time, we would all have been happy - lol!
