I’m looking for suggestions for an overclocking friendly $300 graphics card for FS9. I currently have a Nvidia 7600GT (256K) pushing both a 19 and 15 inch LCD. If I run FSNav on the 15 in full screen the 19 main really stumbles. Even with FSNav minimized I still get large magenta patches before they are painted in 2D in the scenery whenever I hat move to look out the right and left views. VC works OK . I’m starting to buy some nice payware aircraft at it’s taxing the video card for sure.
I figure I will upgrade the video card in my present rig now as I will be giving it to my daughter in late 2007 when I build my next dual core DX10 rig. She went to school for computer animation and could use the computer upgrade (George Lucas didn’t call her upon graduation for that corner LA office, imagine that!). Anyway, I don’t mind dropping the $$ on the card as it will get used. I do also use the computer for business use.
I’m also considering OCing the AMD 4400+ along with the new video card. Perhaps buying a video card that is OCed out of the box? Any suggestions would be most welcomed. Thanks!
