Thread: FSX Gamespy which ports?

  1. #1

    Default FSX Gamespy which ports?

Is there any way to figure out which port(s) FSX uses to connect to Gamespy? I can't login to gamespy in FSX and I am 99% sure its because of a program I use to connect/authenticate over the internet - we have to use it because we're on campus, etc etc. Our IT department said they might be able to allow the connection if they knew what port Gamespy/FSX was operating on....

Is there a way to find the port(S)?

    Thanks a lot!

Unfortunately there is a downside to Gamespy, you might have been successful getting in for months, but then suddenly you might come up with a message saying ‘You may have logged into another computer’

But then I found out that I lost connection with Gamespy completely.

What you should do to solve this problem and what I did is Port forward port number: 8871 – Gamespy

    http://portforward.com/

I successful done that and now it is working perfectly.

I do recommend this to anyone that is having the problem I had.

I am having trouble with Gamespy as well - I had it working about a week and a half ago for a couple of days, and now it just wont work. Every time I try to sign in it immediately says: "The network was unable to connect". What can I do to make this work? I too am on a University campus, but I don't think that could be the issue because it was working before.

Any advice or help would be excellent.

    Cheers.
