Hey guys my notepad (notepad32.exe) always opens not totally maximized. Say if I want to read a .txt file it will open notepad (my program of choice) but it is not maximized...see pic:)

Is there a way I can have it open always completely maximized???

Guess it doesn't remember the last window size. Try a right click on notepad icon|Properties and change Run from Normal Window to Maximize.

Didn't work...it's very strange. Funny thing is - last time (before I formated the HDD) this same thing happened with notepad. Soemtimes I think it's because of the way the user leaves the program when they close it. If you have it smaller and close it, the next time Windows will remember that size setting and open it. Maybe it has to do something will view file types under the explorer...I'll check on that.

Googling didn't seem to do me much good either....

EDIT: I opened it again and this time I saved a test.txt file to the desktop, maximized the program, and then manually clicked on the file menu, FILE->EXIT. Opened notepad again and it opened fully maximized!! Problem solved yay!!!

EDIT #2: Thanks Steve, I never knew that either

EDIT#3(lol) : Nevermind, it's not fixed. Funny thing is, when I open notepad via the Start menu it opens how I want it...but when I open a random txt file, it opens to the little size depicted in my picture up there^^....And I tried the CTRL key with the close - to no avail...weird... anyway, problem NOT solved :(

Another thing you can try is to open notepad, maximize it, then hold the CTRL key while you click the close button. This tells Windows to remember the window settings for an application from the last time it was open. This will also work with resizing a window.
