Hi community,
I recently built a new PC. I am getting reasonably good performance in FS9, however, I have one minor problem when the texture maps in the sim appear "ghosted", that is, it looks like there is a transparent layer over the ground which then dissapears after about one second. As a result, I would like the communities opinion on my next planned upgrade, as I'm hoping this will resolve this issue.
My System:
AMD64 Venice Core 3200
Asus A8N Sli Nforce4 mobo
2Gb PC400 DDR RAM
1x7200rpm SATA Drive, 160Gb
1xGeForce FX6600Gt PCiE with 256Mb
On-board sound and LAN
Sony DVD drive
Microsoft Windows XP SP2 (Firewall off)
19" Viewsonic Monitor
I generally run the sim at 1280x1024 and love it!
My upgrade additions:
AMD64 Venice core at 3800
Additional FX6600Gt with 256Mb in SLi mode
(Possibly) 2x80Gb WD 80Gb 10,000 rpm SATA2 drives, RAID0
Now, as I said, I am mostly happy aside from this "ghosting" type effect, and I've heard that FS9 will not care about the additional video card.
As usual, all feedback appreciated.
Many thanks
