Default Upgraded system----- no difference in FPS

I just upgraded from the following :

    AMD 2800XP
    9800pro
    1GB RAM

    to this:

    AMD64 3800
    X800XL 256mb
    1 GB DDR400 RAM

My frame rates have remainded unchanged..I run my settings fairly high (the same as my old system)..... For example on approach to KSEA at 80% AI traffic with an ad-on aircraft such as the PDMG or WILCO CRJ, my frames were around 14-15 on the old system ,and the same on the new....

i thought changing both the CPU and GPU will increase them.... I do get good frames in less-intense scenery areas and in clouds, but no change in heavy scenery areas.

I have tried various drivers for both the vid card and mobo(ASUS A8V deluxe) with no avail....

The next step is to take the computer in for a hardware scan.. I think there might be a memory leak, a faulty chipset or CPU , or a BIOS problem.

My old system ran like a charm though. Especially with the Omega drivers!

is this the case with all apps, or just FS9? if other games are running faster, have you rebilt the fs9.cfg with the new settings?

Download AquaMark3...(don't buy it..just the free version)...Run Aquamark and post your score...If you could do this on both machines that would even be better..

    http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=673

Or an alternate would be 3DMark05 (Allot smaller Download)...Either AquaMark03 or 3DMark05 would be fine...Just want to get a benchmark of each of your systems....

    http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=874

Download Cpuz (latest version)...and post a screen shot of the first tab, Memory tab and SPD tab...you only need to do this on your new computer...

I've personally found "FPS" to be a bit odd..too many variables...I'm not convinced monitoring "FPS" is a valid way to judge system performance...A benchmarking program (such as AquaMark03 or 3DMark05) are designed to specifically test your systems performance...That is their only job...and in my opinion the only way to measure the System...

I understand your, my and everyone elses goal to get FS to run the best that we can...and logically monitoring FPS in Flightsim seems like the way to do it...But if your concern is your new system running correctly...I suggest running the benchmarks above...

    Thanks
