Driver question and driver cleaner

I uninstalled my drivers control panel and display drivers here is my question since I do have other ati related stuff installed i don't use the ati uninstaller, what i want to know is there a way to uninstall the WDM drivers should i even bother with them? I mean you download a new driver set you get new control panel, display driver and wdm drivers, does it just over write them (WDM)? This brings me to the driver cleaner question, I haven't used it lately as i feel there is no need too but other wise i would only choose (since i have ati related stuff) ATI WDM (here i can delete them) and i guess the ATI only folder right? Then of course optional the "cab cleaner".

It seems more and more unless going from nvidea to ati or vice versa the driver cleaner tool is useless now with the ati uninstaller also refered to cat uninstaller, and with the simplicity of add/remove programs to get rid of control panel and display driver. So whats the big deal which everyone mentions this tool?

Only one thing i noticed from not using the driver cleaner this time which i've always used, is the fact that the desktop is resized and all the icons are misplaced, and i doubt thats related to NOT using driver cleaner.

Driver Cleaner does a more thorough job. The ATI and nVidia tools occasionally leave behind files or registry entries that may cause trouble later. Generally the Add/Remove Programs does work, but not always.

As for the WDM, the new drivers should over write them if needed.
