The problem you describe sounds like the problem I've had recently with some of the new video driver versions.

I found this fix on a TweaksRus (http://www.tweaksrus.com/) forum that worked for me. Assuming your running an nVidia card, try this:

    1. Open the nvidia control panel (right click on the desktop, properties, settings, advanced, nVidia tab)
    2. Select "colour correction."
    3. Select "all" in the "apply changes to" box.
    4. In "colour profile" select "advanced mode."
    5. Hit "restore to defaults."
    6. Save your new colour profile.

    Hope this helps.

I had a problem also with the display when using the dvd recorder. Using this tweak brought the colors back to normal. I tried reinstalling drivers to no avail, before but this worked for me. Thanks for the tip.
