Default IDEAL DRIVERS FOR NVIDIA CARD????

hi, what are the best drivers for good frame rates for an nvidia card? I always thought the latest were automatically the best because they stop problems with games and glitches and such. I have the 71.89 drivers. What i need is a unanimous vote on the best nvidia drivers. Anyone have any ideas?
please give many posts as this is an interesting topic for me!
    thankyou

I'm curious too.. I just got my Alienware a few days ago and I'm wondering whats the best version of Forceware for FS2004 and IL-2? My comp came with some 6x.xx version so I upgraded to the latest (77.72).. it seems to be working fine.

For me, the Extreme-G series of drivers from http://www.tweaksrus.com/ have always given me the best flightsim performance - less stutters, best FPS and best IQ.

Recently, there have been several XG drivers that have performed very well for me. Most notable are XG77.13HD, XG77.62HD Type 3 and XG80.40HD.

As for a favorite among those three, that's a tough call, but I think XG77.62HD Type 3 has the edge. The sim just seems smoother and those much talked about micro-stutters are pretty well gone.

    As for an "ideal driver"???????????

In my opinion there is no such thing. It depends upon what each person wants or expects in the way of image quality and speed. Furthermore, a driver that works best for me may not be the one that works best for someone else. That's because the results obtained with a particular driver version depend upon the system, the type video card, how it is set up, how its been tweaked, etc. etc. etc.

    Yes,77.62 type3 is keepers for me,good fps,no stutters,or pauses,so far,can't believe it.Tried alot of Drivers,I mean alot.Even other XG,these are the best so far.You have to go to Display/Advance,your card GPU,color correction/change to ALL/Advance Mode to Play DVD'S,that's it,then go Flying.

Me too. I'm a driver fanatic. Reason being, IMO, nothing affects sim performance as much as the video driver. Lately I've been comparing
XG7762HD Type 3, XG80.40HD and (for the first time ever) an NGO driver Version 1.7772. I currently have the NGO driver installed. Seems to me its a bit faster than XG77.62HD Type 3 but not quite as smooth.
    So I think I'll re-install XG7762HD Type 3 today and call it a "keeper".
At least for a day or so!

Yes,I tried the NGO,good for low end PC,for higher FPS,they gave me lower FPS in CCS Stress Test, the 77.62 Type3 gave me a Higher FPS than the NGO,plus NGO would not play Far Cry,some body said reinstall Far Cry,Iwent back to the 77.50,now 77.62Type3,lobe them so far.Ron

While I have no preferences for video drivers for my ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, Here's what Maximum PC (A computer magazine) said about updating your device drivers:
"This can be a pain in the rear, but it's worth the bother. Manufacturers of motherboards, graphics cards, sound cards, modems, and other hardware, tend to update their drivers on a regular basis. You should head to their websites once a week and check for updates. Optimized drivers can boost the performance of your hardware-this is especially true of graphics cards. Drivers are the key to compatibility and performance and you shoud stay on top of them regularly. If the manufacturer of your hardware offers automatic e-mail updates informing you of new driver updates, sign up! Windows update will also inform you of new drivers, particularly for your graphics card."

    Noell,
You rule!!! I was using the 76.41's and I thought i was happy with those until I tried you suggestion. Long story short, I was absolutely blown away with the results. Made a huge difference (smoothness and FPS) with my 6800GT,
