For joyride trips by myself:
Practical, fun, nice to look at.
For the family/friend rides:
Fast, comfortable, pretty good looking.
For fun:
Love me some pylon flying!
For MORE fun:
Absolutely MENACING aircraft!
And for the days that I just want to fly something simple:
Simple, cramped, charisma.
I have two planes that I'm fond of... actually, three. One is the Maule, the next is a glider with an engine and lastly, the Skymaster (Which I fly exclusively on Vatsim). They're not in any particular order. If money wasn't an issue... it'd be the Skymaster.... on a budget, it's going to be the glider with an engine.
I'm surprised so few people have chosen the 747. I'd get one of those majestic machines in a heartbeat, make it into a comfortable home on wheels (and wings!) and travel the world.I'd also get myself type-certified so that I can fly it myself.

If money wasn't a factor, i would love to have all the DH-XX series from the 1920's and 30's, like the Dragon Rapid, Tiger Moth And Comet Racer.
