Because of some messed up travel arrangements for spring break, my car is parked in STL's long term parking. I have a choice on staying in Atlanta or driving back to Kansas City and picking up my car on 3/26. However, when looking at airfares from MCI-STL and ATL-STL, I hit one of the amazing complexities of the airline reservation system. The price of the flight from MCI-STL via ATL was $88. However, the flight from ATL-STL was $599, but on the same flight that I would catch if I was flying from MCI via ATL (Comair 5569). I know that most airline pricing is based on going from one "zone" to another, but it seems rediculous to charge over $500 more for less flying time (no flight from MCI-ATL). I was wondering if I decided to stay in Atlanta, could I book the MCI-ATL-STL flight and just show up for the ATL-STL part of it to save $500?
