The sound may be better depending on your speakers, but you are not going to get any more FPS.
Hope this helps,

As jJim noted.. you might experience better sound.. .. normally using a pci audio card will in a way enhance FPS as well as a dedicated audio card would remove some workload from the cpu ... or mainbard for that matter... but ehre.. you already have a pci card... o i doubt you lll experience better FPS..

All Sound Blaster PCI cards will take the load of off the CPU, so going from a Live! to an Audigy 2 won't provide any more performance. It will get you EAX 3 and 4 support and better sound quality though.
Not all PCI cards do though. Some like the M-Audio Revolution give better qualoty than onboard, or even an Audigy, but still rely heavily on the CPU.

if you have an Nforce 2 mobo with soundstorm you will get better frame rates by using the onboard sound: http://www.tomshardware.com/game/20030405/index.html
You need to make sure to use the digital output though. Analog speakers won't benefit unless you have a digital receiver between them and the PC. If you use the analog outputs on the motherboard you will only be using the Realtek onboard sound that most motherboards have.

Sometimes better performance is not necessarilly higher framerates, but what you get instead is less of a drop in framerates. This upgrade could help in that way, even if only by a small amount.
I made the same upgrade and I did get better sound, that's for sure.
