Thread: GeForce 5600XT porblem-HELP!!

    Default GeForce 5600XT porblem-HELP!!

I just installed a GeForece 5600XT, and it seems to work fine until I start a game. FS2004 and il2 Sturmovik show HEAVY screen corruption, skies are red, textures blend into eachother and ebentually the screen is just full of colors, then my plane crashes (cause I cant see it!) Any ideas? I cant figure out any adjustments that I havent already made. I had no problems with my MX440 card, other than non direct X9 compliancy and much more stutter.
    HELP!!!!!

Did you delete your FS9.cfg file and allow FS to rebuild a new one? Please give that a try.

    Hope this helps,

Yes I did download the newest drivers, and that diddnt work. I also made sure that fs9 is recognizing the card under settings in the sim, and it's there. The same problem exists during IL2 sturmovik, so it seems to be either a setting issue or something else related to game applications themselves, because browsing, watching media, etc is just fine.

How do you do this? Hopefully not with a fresh install (redoing all the add-ons is a real PAIN!)

I had the same problem with CFS3 and my TI4600. I found that messing around with drivers seemed to fix the problem.

EDIT: You might want to make sure your AGP apeture size is about 128mb. You set that in your BIOS.

I tried that as per your advice and still no luck. I think I'm going to put back in my MX 440 and stomp on my new FX 5600!

actually i believe the GF4MX is right on par with the 5600XT when it comes to performance

Highlight your FS9.cfg file and hit the Delete key on your keyboard. No, you will not need to re-install FS! On your first startup a new cfg file will be created.

    Hope this helps,

The GF4MX is not on par the the 5600XT.

The TI-4600s are about on par the the 5600XT but they TI-4600 is a lightyear ahead of the the GF4MX cards.

I think it would be worth it to figure out what is wrong and to fix it.
