Hi everyone. Im a noob here, but I have a question.
I know you guys probably get this ALL the time and I apologize for posting more of it, but I have (in my opinion) absolutely SCOURED the net looking for an answer before I resolved to post it on a board.
I am having problems with what I think is fog rendering on a brand new ATI card that came with a machine a just bought. I have searched ATI's site, have updated my drivers and I just cant resolve the issue.
Essentially, what is happening is that when i get into a fog situation (specifically Flight 03 or 04 in "Aerial Chauffer" -whichever one takes you BACK to Boston), everything that looks like it should be shrouded in fog has a white surface on it. Its very evident in that every tree and building has been turned white. What is weird is that the clouds seem to render fine. Once I get airborne and get going, everything seems to go back to normal. To try and isolate the problem, I created a NEW flight somewhere out in the open and cycled my weather through the preset weather themes. Sure enough, when the Fogged In setting was selected - bang! everything went haywire.
For reference, here are my specs:
(I just bought this machine on Friday of last week. Its an HP 470 Media Center - brand new)
Processor: Intel® Pentium® 4 processor 3.00GHz with Hyper-Threading Technology
Secondary-Level Cache (L2): 1MB
Frontside Bus: 800MHz
Memory: 512MB DDR SDRAM (expandable to 2GB)
Memory Speed: 3200 MB/sec (PC 3200)
Video Graphics: ATI RADEON 9200 AGP 8x graphics card with 128MB DDR video memory and TV-Out
PS - FS2004 was the VERY first thing I loaded - so i would tend to guess that i wouldnt have any conflicts.
Any help would be MOST GRACIOUSLY appreciated.
Thanks,
gShark
