More information about your computer hardware and software, such as:
Windows version, driver software for graphics adapter, sound, motherboard controller chips, amount of RAM, graphics adapter model, sound model, computer cpu - Intel or AMD, speed, etc.

Windows 2000 professional,NVIDIA Geforce MX 440,soundblaster live 5.1,
all I can see is it uses the T-Bird Chipset,256 Ram, AMD Athlon 1800xp
Display Driver 6.13.10.3082
:-hmmm
I don't have any experience with Win2K so I am stabbing at where to look for your Mobo's Controller Chips. Open Device Manager, System Devices and search for entries similiar to the following:
Intel CPU to AGP Controller
VIA CPU to AGP Controller
others could be SiS, AMD, ALi, NForce.
If you can find what Mobo controller chips you have, search the web for updated drivers.
You are using a fairly old display driver, you might consider updating that as well. Make sure you all are up to date on Win2K Service Packs (SP) and you have installed directx9.0b.

Hi
there is nothing on that list that says AGP, I have an Sis to Pci bridge, as for the Drivers I have Tried updating them and they seem to make it worse I will try updating them again as I can always uninstall them again and put back the original. As for service packs and updates they are all in place, including DirectX 9.0b.
Thanks for taking the time to try and help, this is much appreciated.
I'm thinking of going back to FS 2002 if I can't sort it out
If you got the latest Nvidia drivers they'd probably be the 53.03's.
You were using the 30.82's.
I could see the 50 series being problematic with your card.
A very GENERAL guide for Nvidia cards - and this is very far from concrete - is to use matching driver series with your card.
You might want to try a few drivers from the 40 series for your GF4 - I think on my old MX 400 I had the best luck with the 44.67's.
Virtually any Nvidia driver will "run" any Nvidia card.
But how well is another story...
You can get older drivers at guru3d and look at the ratings for the various 40 series offerings - usually with each series there'll be a few clear cut "winners" in the list. Those would be a good place to start.
How old is your computer? Do you know if it actually has an AGP slot or do you only have PCI slots for cards. If you only have PCI slots, that would explain why you don't have SIS CPU to AGP Controller under system devices.
Try running DirectX Diagnostic. Press start, run..., type dxdiag, OK. Let the diagnostic stabilize, then review the information on the system page and run the tests on the display tab page. Make sure DirectDraw, Direct3d, and AGP Accelerators are enabled. If AGP Accelerator is grayed out then either you don't have AGP or it is not enabled by the MOBO Controller Chip drivers.
Another area to look is in your BIOS. Check the various pages for AGP enable. If you find it, ensure you have at least 64MB of RAM set for aperature opening set.
