I switched Video Cards, and here is what I got

I had a Nvidea card - TI4600 128ram, it was a great card, had it a little over a year. I wanted one of the new cards that was out seeing how I just rebuilt my machine. I went out and got the Nvidea 5950 256ddr ram, 8X video card.

I will say, It ROCKS

I scored over 3500 more points on benchmark 2001SE, and I picked up about 7 to 9 FPS in FS9. Okay, not a big difference on FS9, but some of my other games really look good. I have FS9 maxed on just about everything, and I am locked at 30 now....and it stays in the upper 20's all the time. Even in KORD.....

So if anyone was wondering if a new card would make a difference....I would say about 20% increase for me.

3ghz, P4, intel 865perl mobo, 512ddr400 ram, 800fsb, Nvidea 5950 256ddr @ 8X. I have anti lasing off in game, and have filter and lasing at 4x each. It seemed a little unstable at 8x, 8x ....I crashed machine 3 times. Have not crashed at all at 4x, 4x. I am happy. PLUS EVERYTHING except clouds is maxed. clouds at 40%

Glad to here that , im thinking of going to a 5950 ultra to replace my GF 4 TI 4400 , i did try a 9700pro but i had all soughts of problems with it so i think i will be sticking with Nvidia for now .
You say that you have locked your Frame rate at 30 and the sim runs in the high 20s .....try just locking the FPS at 25 ...that way you wont see any frame rate decreace compaered to locking it at 30.
