try evga nvidia I have one
I currently have MSI's GeForce 4 Ti4200. My motherboard is also one of MSI's. Both products have been rock-solid. Now I'm planning to upgrade to MSI's FX 5700 Ultra. More expensive than some of the others, but the bundle (software - utilities and games) is huge (actually, I would be glad to forego the bundle and pay less but that's not an option).
In any case, I think the GeForce FX 5700 Ultra is a good choice. I'm sure we will both be happy with whichever card we purchase.
Have fun.
CurlSnout,
Before purchasing the 5700 Ultra, you might want to look at NVidia's 5900XT or 5900SE as some manufacturers called it. It just came out and out performs the 5700 Ultra for one $20 more, they have it at www.newegg.com, just look for EVGA GeForce 5900SE. The price should be $190.00, a lot of the review sites are going crazy over this card.

FlightMan,
Thanks for the heads-up. I never even heard of this card. Looks like the release was a pretty quiet affair, but on the other hand it looks like you are correct - many of the "hardware fan-boy" sites are beginning to make a bunch of noise over it. And, it seems many are scratching their heads and wondering why anybody considering the (relatively new) 5700 Ultra wouldn't opt instead for the (newer) 5900 SE/XT (at about the same price).
By the way, the card you referred me to (eVGA's 5900 SE) is actually $20 LESS than MSI's 5700 Ultra at Newegg.
Choices galore. What's a boy to do?
