Default Recommended drivers for GF4 TI4200

    Hi,

I am using the Nvidia drivers version 45.23 right now. I get a
lot of flicker on my scenery in FS9. What drivers do you all recommend for my card. Thanks.

I use the Nvidia 52-16 drivers. No problems. Set your mip map settings under hardware in FS9 display settings to 4x or 5x.

Hi Pat!I have a PNY ti4200 128mb4x-8x,love it for this PC RIG Sony.1.5 512ram 400FSB,9.0b,5.1 extigy.Im using 45.23Nvidia ,tried 52.16,I think that driver 52.16 sets AA by default, can't remember, can't use the 52.16 have FB sim, can't view perfect waters in the sim mode, just did't like it for other reasons. The 50.xx cards are for the FX cards so I have read, but some guys have no problems, and some do.I have read that most guys have no problems with the 45.23.Make sure that AA is turned off or by application only, set 3d Qaulity. Can't think of any other ideas.Good luck.Just getting by for what I know for my RIG.Happy Holiday's.Ron

So I've just had a different experience in FS9: I just updated my driver from 45.23 (which worked fine) to 52.16, result was dramatic: huge shimmer (at MIP=5), backed off to MIP 4, which reduced the shimmer, but now mid to long distances were very blurry. I had no problem with shimmer with 45.23. Rolled back the driver to 45.23, problem solved, installed 52.16 problem reappeared, rolled back to 45.23, no shimmer.

    Whassup?

Set AF to 4X in the display properties.. that will fix it.

Thanks, Bert, that helped. I found slightly degraded quality in near distance, and slight improved quality in the medium distance with new drivers. However with side by side screenshots the difference is subtle and subjective.

Will this setting cause any problems with other apps?
