Thread: Flightone Cessna 421 Golden Eagle

  1. Default Flightone Cessna 421 Golden Eagle

    Hello:

    I have hand the 421 installed and working for about a week. And today I noticed at the Flightone site there was a update available. So I installed it and the traffic one and now FS9 will not load. I get a popup saying[ Aircraft initialization failure Flightone Golden Eagle 421c enter variation] The enter varition is Greenbrier textures that I installed. It was working fine until the updates.

    Hi Bill,

    Check that the reference to the AIR file (sim= entry in the aircraft.cfg file) is correct. Frequently with updates the AIR file is updated and/or the name changed to reflect the new version. I suspect that your Greenbrier addon entry is still with the old version reference.

    I assume that you directly load the Greenbrier C421 on FS2004 startup. If you don't, then the problem is more fundamental than errors in your C421. The recommended FS2004 startup aircraft is not an addon but the default Cessna.

    Hello;

    The aircraft cfg file says [sim=F1_C421] I believe this is correct.

    Is there a way to remove the update because before that everything was fine. I remade the Greenbrier variation in tex o matic and still cant get the sim to load.

    Hi Bill,

    Can you not load FS2004 at all, or is it just when you select the C421 ?

    Try saving your current FS9.cfg somewhere then delete it and allow FS2004 to create a fresh, default one when it next starts. Let us know if you can now start FS2004. If you can, the problem is just with the C421, and we can solve that problem next !

    Just to add, check that your FS9.cfg looks like this:

    {STARTUP}
    DEMO=0
    LOADSIM=1
    LOADWINDOW=1
    SHOW_OPENING_SCREEN=1
    STARTUP_DEMO=

    This will give you the opening selection screen with the default flight.

    Aparently I have no fs9.cfg file on my harddrive or my backup hardrive. Where could it be located. I cant load FS at all. I dont understand how an update could have done this.
